Documents & Forms

What the Notion connector can do

Notion gives teams one place for notes, wikis, docs, and task databases that they shape to fit their own processes. A type.com connection lets Claude write into those pages for you, adding formatted text from markdown, code and equation blocks, and structural pieces like dividers, columns, and tables of contents, so a thread's conclusions end up in the doc people actually read.

One connection, many Spaces

Connect Notion once, then decide which Spaces can use it in threads, skills, automations, and coding work.

What teams do with Notion in type.com

Save meeting outcomes to the wiki

Once a discussion wraps up, the agent turns the thread into structured notes and appends them to the right Notion page with headings and lists intact.

Try asking
Add a summary of this thread to our 'Q4 Planning' Notion page as markdown, with decisions and owners as bullet lists.

Document code in engineering pages

Drop snippets, config examples, or formulas into technical docs as proper code, quote, or equation blocks instead of pasted plain text.

Try asking
Append the new retry config as a YAML code block to the 'API Client' page in Notion, with a short quote explaining it.

Lay out a new page cleanly

Give a fresh page a table of contents, dividers, and columns before content goes in, so long docs stay easy to scan.

Try asking
On the 'Onboarding 2026' Notion page, add a table of contents at the top and a divider between each section.

Representative actions

  • Add multiple content blocks (bulk, user-friendly)

Writes many blocks to a page at once, parsing markdown and splitting long text, the preferred way to add content.

  • Add single content block to Notion page (Deprecated)

Older way to insert one block into a page. Kept for compatibility; the bulk action is recommended instead.

  • Append raw Notion blocks (advanced API)

Deprecated low-level option for sending raw block JSON. Specific append actions now cover each block family.

  • Append code blocks (code, quote, equation)

Adds code snippets, quotes, or math equations to a page for technical and reference documentation.

  • Append layout blocks (divider, TOC, columns)

Inserts dividers, a table of contents, breadcrumbs, or column layouts to structure a page.

Representative triggers

  • All Page Events

Triggers when any Notion page is created or updated across the workspace.

  • Comment Created

Triggers when a new comment is created in Notion. Optional `page_id` filter scopes to comments on a specific page. When omitted, fires for any new comment in the workspace the integration has access to. Requires the 'Read comments' capability on the Notion integration. If a connection was authorized before that capability was enabled, the user must re-authorize the connection for comment events to flow.

  • New Comment

Triggers when a new comment is added to a specified Notion block or page.

Connection

API and auth details

Notion's official API uses bearer tokens from internal connections, personal access tokens, or OAuth public connections and requires versioned Notion API requests.

FAQ

Questions people ask before connecting Notion

Can Claude write to my Notion pages from type.com?

Yes. When Notion is connected and shared with a Space, Claude can append formatted text, code, and layout blocks to pages you name. You review the content in the thread first, and teammates see what was added.

How do I authenticate Notion?

You can sign in with OAuth or supply a Notion token from an internal connection. Admins set it up once and pick which type.com Spaces can use it, with no tokens pasted into threads.

Can I push a weekly summary into Notion automatically?

Yes. Set up a type.com automation that runs weekly, gathers updates from a channel, and appends them to a Notion page. Notion also lists triggers such as page events and new comments.

Is this the same as a Notion MCP server?

Not exactly. type.com uses connectors and connections to give selected Spaces access to approved app tools and data. Some connectors use hosted MCP, while others use OAuth, API keys, service accounts, or custom APIs.
